2020 began with big plans for major growth and expansion for Iringa Hope. We had arranged for an International Rotary Grant to provide financing for members to store their crops, had finished completing 23 Integrated Development Center (IDC) buildings, surpassed the $1,000,000 mark in our loan pools, welcomed additional staff to the Micro Finance Institute, and reorganized to provide better service and growth in our farming cooperatives (AMCOS).
And then the pandemic hit, followed by abnormally heavy rains and locusts! Although these events put a limit on some of the planned activities, the team in Iringa was still able to rise to the challenge and accomplish much this year.
Our annual report is now available and highlights the many ways that Iringa Hope helps our members improve the quality of life for their families and their community.
